Establishment of a Quorum:


Board Meeting Agenda: Pursuant to the Desert Regional Consortium Governance Plan, the consortium member’s relative voting power will be one vote for each member. A quorum is three members present. A majority of the quorum is necessary for approval of decisions. Votes will be voiced by stating yes or no. Abstentions will be noted. Votes will be recorded in the minutes, including the names of the members making and seconding the motion.

There will be an allotment of time (up to 3 minutes per person) given to members of the public for comment. Additional time will be given to the voting members to consider public comments. After discussion, the executive voting committee will vote or agree to pull the item for a second reading if members feel more time is necessary.

  1. Approve 2021-22 CAEP Allocation and Reduction. The Base Allocation for the DRC is $3,375,143, with a Reduction of $26,069 for a new total DRC Allocation of $3,349,074.

  1. Approve new 2021-22 DRC Member Allocations. The Base Allocation for Coachella Valley USD is $1,715,213, for College of the Desert is $483,778, for Desert Sands USD is $361,445 for Palm Springs USD is $279,880, for Riverside County Office of Education – CTE is $371,481, and for Riverside County Office of Education – Jail Program is $137,277.

  1. The Education to Workforce Pathway – A tool will be presented that offers insights to how your CTE offerings (credit and noncredit) line up to your local labor market needs. This webinar will also introduce you to concrete examples of how consortia have used this data and technical assistance to identify and plan pathways that align to industry needs and attend to the learner’s educational journey – Email forwarded to members.
